~ Food Pantry
Led by Gary & Amy Morenus

Our Food Pantry serves the east side of Elmira and surrounding communities and those
individuals and families that are going through difficult times. The pantry is open on
the
2nd and the 4th Tuesdays of every month from 6:00pm until there are no more
people
. Emergency food is also available by calling the church office. We open our
doors at about 5:00pm so that the Harvest can come into the building, where we enjoy
serving them while they wait to get groceries. On the 4th Tuesday we give away
Birthday cakes to those having a birthday, we give away some practical gifts, we share
the Word and offer prayer all while we get to know them. As we build relationships,
doors open for opportunities to minister to their needs.

We serve anyone in need regardless of their income level. We desire to extend mercy
as God has shown mercy and grace to us.
We believe it is our honor, privilege and responsibility to serve God by helping meet the
nutritional and spiritual needs of others through Christ's love. The New Life Food
Pantry Team, motivated by Christ's love, is not only committed to serving natural bread
but also the Bread of Life.
John 6:35 (NIV) “Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me
will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”
Matthew 25:35, 40 (NIV) “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was
thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in” …
“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine,
you did for me.”
      Proverbs 14:31 (TEV) “If you oppress poor people, you insult the God who made them;
but kindness shown to the poor is an act of worship.”
